Welcome to the web site of the 7th International Conference on Materials Design and Applications 2028. The 7th International Conference on Materials Design and Applications 2028 will take place in Tsukuba, Japan, 2-3 November 2028. The conference venue is the campus of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) which offers excellent facilities for high quality scientific interactions. Tsukuba is located in southern Ibaraki Prefecture, approximately 50 kilometers from central Tokyo and about 40 kilometers from Narita International Airport. Mount Tsukuba, from which the city takes its name, is located in the northern part of the city.
This conference is held every 2 years. The conference is chaired by Lucas F. M. da Silva and co-chaired by Nao Terasaki (AIST, Japan), Zhengjin Wang (Xi'an Jiaotong University, China), Kevin T Turner (University of Pennsylvania, USA) and Fátima Vaz (University of Lisbon, Portugal).
The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) supports this conference.
The conference covers the full spectrum of materials engineering and technology, including:
. Metals and alloys, including lightweight and high-strength systems
. Polymers and composites, including polymer-matrix and metal-matrix composites
. Ceramics and glass-based materials
. Soft materials, such as elastomers, gels, and responsive polymers
. Mechanical metamaterials and architected materials, including auxetic, lattice, and energy-absorbing systems
. Biomaterials and bioinspired materials, with applications in healthcare, energy, and sustainability
